Formerly Chairman and CEO of Patriot Resources Partners LLC

Ted Collins serves as Advisory Director to TPH Asset Management. Since 2007, Collins has been the Chairman and CEO of Patriot Resources Partners LLC, an independent oil and natural gas producer.

Collins started his career as a Petroleum Engineer with Pan American Petroleum Corporation in West Texas and left in 1963 to become an independent oil operator. Later, Collins became Executive Vice President of American Quasar Petroleum and the President of what are now EOG Resources and its predecessors Enron Oil & Gas Company, HNG Oil Company, and HNG Internorth Exploration Co. After serving as President of Collins & Ware Inc, a private corporation active in oil and gas exploration, production, and property acquisitions, the majority of the company’s assets were sold to Apache Corporation in 2000. Collins then proceeded to serve as President of Collins & Ware Investments.

Collins is a Chairman of the Midland Wildcat Committee and has previously served as President of both the Permian Basin Landmen’s Association and the Permian Basin Petroleum Association. He is also a member of the North American Prospect Expo Advisory Board and The University of Texas Development Board. In addition, Collins serves on the Board of Directors of Energy Transfer Partners, Oasis Petroleum, and CLL Global Research Foundation. Collins’s recent honors include Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the American Association Professional Landmen in 2006 and the Houston Association of Professional Landmen in 2011. He has also been awarded the Top Hand Award in 2008 from the Perian Basin Petroleum Association and was elected to the Hall of Fame by the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum in 2009.

Currently a Managing Director for Riverstone Holdings LLC

Pete Coneway serves as an Advisory Director to TPH Asset Management. Currently, Coneway is a Managing Director focused on sourcing, structuring, and executing energy investments for Riverstone Holdings LLC.

Prior to joining Riverstone, Coneway served as United States Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Goldman, Sachs & Co., and Head of the Houston office, which he founded in 1975. Having started at Goldman in 1969, he was named a General Partner in 1978 and established Goldman’s Equities Sales, Trading and Research Division in Tokyo in 1987.

Coneway serves on the Board of Directors of Cobalt International Energy. He previously served on the Governor’s Business Council, as a member of The University of Texas System Board of Regents, and as Chairman of the University’s M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors. Coneway is currently a Trustee of The Museum of Fine Arts – Houston, a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Heart Institute, and a member of the M.D. Anderson Board of Visitors.

Formerly President and CEO of Murphy Oil Corporation

Claiborne Deming serves as an Advisory Director to TPH Asset Management. Deming served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Murphy Oil Corporation from 1994 to 2008. He joined Murphy in 1979 as Staff Attorney and held numerous positions prior to his promotion to President of Murphy Oil USA in 1989.

Deming is a member of the Board of Directors of Murphy Oil Corporation and Chairman of the Executive Committee. He served on the Board of Directors of Entergy Corporation from 2002 to 2006 and was a member of the Arkansas State Board of Education from September 1999 to June 2002.

Deming is a past President of the 25 Year Club of the Oil and Gas Industry and has served as Chairman of the National Petroleum Council. In addition, Deming is a member of the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust and a member of the Jefferson Scholars Selection Committee of the University of Virginia. Deming is a Director of the American Petroleum Institute and a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, and Louisiana Bar Association. Deming is a minority investor in Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co., LLC, the parent company of TPH Asset Management.

Chairman of TPH Partners, L.P.

Joe B. Foster serves as Chairman of TPH Partners, L.P. Foster has a long and distinguished career in the energy industry having founded Newfield Exploration Company in 1989 and serving as that firm’s CEO and chairman. Prior to founding Newfield, Foster was chairman of Tenneco Oil Company and executive vice president and director of its parent, Tenneco Inc. During 2000, Foster served as interim chairman, president and chief executive officer of Baker Hughes Inc. while the company searched for a new chief executive. In 2001-2002, Foster served as independent trustee for a large portion of Texaco’s refining and marketing assets which were required to be divested in the course of the Chevron-Texaco merger. Foster has previously served as Chairman of the boards of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, YMCA of Greater Houston, and Houston A+ Challenge, an organization directed at improving public schools in the Houston area. He has also served as Chairman of the National Petroleum Council, an advisory body to the U.S. Secretary of Energy. In 2006, Foster was inducted in the Texas Business Hall of Fame. Foster currently serves on the boards of directors of Clearfork Resources, LLC and Storm Peak Energy, LLC. Foster graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Petroleum Engineering and a BBA in General Business.

james-hilleJim Hille

CIO of Texas Christian University

Jim Hille serves as an Advisory Director to TPH Asset Management. Currently, Hille is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Texas Christian University (TCU), managing its $1.2 billion endowment. Hille is also Trustee for the Wells Fargo Alternative Strategies Group and former Trustee and Investment Committee Chair for the $1.8 billion City of Fort Worth Employees Retirement Fund.

Prior to joining TCU, Hille served as CIO of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas where he managed a $100 billion public pension plan. Earlier in his career, Hille managed portfolios for the Employees Retirement System of Texas. Hille served six years as an Officer in the US Marine Corps upon graduation from the US Naval Academy.

Hille has also served as an adjunct finance professor for the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and is the former President of the Austin Society of Financial Analysts. Hille is a CFA Charterholder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Formerly Executive VP and CFO of McDermott International

Frank S. Kalman serves as a Senior Advisor to TPH Partners. Kalman has over 34 years of financial experience in a variety of industries and businesses and most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of McDermott International from February 2002 to September 2007. In his career, Kalman has been involved in industry consolidations, initial public offerings, arranging and negotiating complex financing packages in public and private markets (including debt restructurings), executing and financing leveraged buyouts, and conducting significant acquisition and disposition transactions.

Prior to joining McDermott International, Kalman was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Vector ESP, Inc., a technology solutions provider. Additionally, he was Chief Financial Officer and a principal of Pinnacle Equity Partners, L.L.C., and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Chemical Logistics Corporation, a Houston based consolidation of chemical distribution companies. Kalman was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Keystone International, Ltd. until it was acquired in 1997, and also served as Senior Vice President And Chief Financial Officer of American Ref-Fuel Company and United Gas Pipe Line Company. In his early career, Kalman held senior financial positions at LaSalle Energy Corp. and Atlantic Richfield Company. Kalman is a Certified Public Accountant who commenced his career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse.

Kalman is a director of Ensco, plc (NYSE: ESV) and Kraton Performance Polymers (NYSE: KRA).

richard-lewisRichard H. Lewis (TPH Partners)

Chairman of TPH Partners II, L.P.

Richard H. Lewis serves as Chairman of TPH Partners II, L.P. Lewis has been self-employed in the investment and management of personal financial holdings since 2004. In 1980, Lewis founded Prima Energy Corporation, and served as its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President until the sale of the company in 2004. Prima was involved in oil and natural gas exploration and development, natural gas gathering and marketing, and oilfield service activities in the Rocky Mountain region. Over a twenty-four year period, Prima delivered a 25% annual return to its shareholders.

In 2001, Lewis was selected as a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and in 2004 was an inaugural inductee into the Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Hall of Fame. He is a past president of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association.

Lewis currently serves on the boards of directors of Channel Energy, LLC, Elk Meadows Resources LLC, Principle Petroleum Partners LLC and Colorado State Bank & Trust. His philanthropic activities include serving as the Chairman of the Development Board of Colorado UpLIFT and serving on the Board of Trustees of the Alliance for Choice in Education. Lewis received a BS degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Formerly Chairman and CEO of Grant Prideco

Mike McShane serves as an Advisory Director to TPH Asset Management. Previously, McShane served as Chairman and CEO of Grant Prideco, a global leader in the development and sales of drill stem technology.

Over a course of six years through organic growth and acquisitions, McShane successfully expanded Grant Prideco’s revenues by threefold to $1.9 billion and operating income by 11 times to $590 million. McShane left the firm in 2008 after it was acquired by National Oilwell Varco for $7.2 billion. Prior to joining Grant Prideco, McShane served as the Chief Financial Officer of BJ Services, an international pressure pumping and oilfield services company. While at BJ Services, McShane helped grow the company from $350 million in revenues to $1.9 billion. In addition to four private companies, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for three public companies: Complete Production Services, Spectra Energy, and Oasis Petroleum.

McShane also serves as an Operating Partner with Advent International, an international private equity firm. Additionally, McShane is an independent director of the Houston Golf Association, a nonprofit organization benefiting several youth organizations including the First Tee Program.

Formerly CEO and President at Hydril

Chris Seaver serves as an Advisory Director to TPH Asset Management. After serving Hydril Company for more than 20 years in senior management positions, including CEO and President, Seaver retired in 2007 as Chairman of the Board after the oil and gas servicing firm had been acquired by Tenaris S.A.

Prior to joining Hydril, Seaver served as a Corporate and Securities Attorney for the law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP and was in the Foreign Service with postings in Kinshasa, Republic of Congo, and Bogota, Colombia.

Seaver previously served in leadership roles at the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association, the American Petroleum Institute, and the National Ocean Industries Association where he was Chairman. He currently serves as a Director of Oil States International, Inc, True Production Services, Inc, and as a Director and Officer of the Seaver Institute.

steven-shapiroSteven J. Shapiro (TPH Partners)

Formerly Executive VP and CFO of Burlington Resources

Steven J. Shapiro serves as a Senior Advisor to TPH Partners. Shapiro has been a business consultant since 2006. From October 2000 to April 2006, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Burlington Resources Inc. During his five-year tenure at Burlington Resources, Shapiro served as a member of the Board of Directors and the Office of the Chairman and was responsible for the company’s strategy development and execution, as well as its financial performance. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Director at Vastar Resources, Inc. He was named to the Board of Barrick Gold in 2004. Shapiro spent 16 years with Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), beginning as a planning analyst and later holding a variety of positions in ARCO’s coal and minerals businesses. In 1985, he was appointed Vice President of Finance for ARCO Coal, then served as Assistant Treasurer and Vice President for Corporate Planning for ARCO, and in 1991 was named President for ARCO Coal Australia. He is currently a Director of both El Paso Corp and Bumi PLC. Most recently, Shapiro was appointed Chairman of GeoSynFuels, a second generation, non food based biofuels company.

Shapiro is a Trustee of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Shapiro earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Economics from Union College and an MBA from Harvard University.

joel-staffJoel V. Staff (TPH Partners)

Formerly Chairman and CEO of Reliant Energy

Joel V. Staff serves as a Senior Advisor to TPH Partners. Staff is a private investor and most recently served as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of RRI and chairman of the Finance and Risk Oversight Committee. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Reliant Energy, Inc. (2003-2007). Reliant Energy is a provider of electricity and energy-related products and services to more than 1.9 million retail and wholesale customers, with approximately 16,000 megawatts of power generation capacity across the U.S.

Staff served as National-Oilwell, Inc’s executive chairman (2001-2002), and Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer (1993-2001). Prior to that, he was employed at Baker Hughes, Inc. for 17 years, holding various financial and general management positions including senior vice president and president of the drilling and production groups.

Staff is a trustee of Texas Children’s Hospital, a member of the University Of Texas McCombs School Of Business Advisory Council and an advisory director of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston. Staff earned a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

Clark Winter Enterprises

Clark Winter serves as an Advisory Director to TPH Asset Management. Winter is an internationally known investor and commentator on geopolitics and global financial markets. Winter has been the Chief Investment Strategist and spokesperson for some of the most prominent global investment firms. Currently, Winter leads Clark Winter Enterprises, a global investment research and strategy firm, where he serves as trustee, advisor, and board member of a select group of significant investors worldwide.

Previously, Winter was the Director of Global Portfolio Strategy at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Prior to Goldman, Winter served as the Chief Global Investment Strategist for Global Wealth Management at Citigroup. Prior to Citi, Winter founded Winter Capital, a multi-manager advisory firm that was sold to Citigroup. Before Winter Capital, he served as President of Global Asset Management which was later sold to UBS.

Winter also serves on the boards of the Andrea Frank Foundation, the Committee on Photography at the Museum of Modern Art, and the Belfer Center at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. His recent book, The Either/Or Investor, was published by Random House.
